    5. Fill with groups of Iris, Carnations and Dendrobium Orchids, leaving room for cabbage.

    Mother's Day Recipe

  • 2 Stems 'Stargazer' Lillies
  • 3 Stems Pink 'Matsumoto' Asters
  • 3 Stems Pink Miniature Carnations
  • 3 Stems Pink Alstroemeria
  • 3 Stems Burgundy Miniature Carnations
  • 3 Stems 'Million Stars' Gypsophila
  • 2 Stems Pittosporum
    • 7 Stems Lily Grass
    • 7 Stems Leatherleaf Fern
    • 2 Stems Tree Fern
    • 1 Can Oasis Floral Adhesive
    • 1 - 9" Glass Vase
    • Binding Material such as Wax String, Raffia or Similar
    1. Prepare materials by making sure all flowers have been properly conditioned and all foliages have been removed from the lower half of each stem.
    2. With the designer's left hand acting as a 'vessel', begin with two stems of Pittosporum. (Left-handed designers may find it easier to create bouquet in the right hand.) Place a few assorted flower stems straight up in the middle to create a center group.
    3. All stems are to be placed in the bouquet with the head of the flower or foliage to the left of the central axis and the stem crossing over to the right. Adding stems and foliages and turning the bouquet clockwise will evenly distribute the stems.
    4. Adjust the height of the stems to ensure a rounded form. Place the tree Fern stems straight down throughout the center o the bouquet and finish with a collar of Leatherleaf Fern and accents of Lily Grass. A few stems of the Lily Grass have been looped and glued with Oasis. Adhesive to create circular forms for added interest.
    5. Tie bouquet off at binding point making sure no soft stems, such as Alstroemeria, are crushed by the binding material.
    6. Cut stems at a n inward angle (towards the center of the bouquet) and place into vase filled with water and floral nutrient.
